A delegation from the board of directors of the Scalo Fluviale cooperative, which will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2024, was received this afternoon at the Veneto Region headquarters in Palazzo Balbi.
President Andrea Pravato, Vice President Simone Manente, and directors Marco Manzo, Marco Rizzo, and Ruggero Cecci were present at the meeting.
The delegation presented some of the initiatives and events that will be organized to mark this important milestone. These initiatives also aim to reflect on the world of lagoon freight transport, which is grappling with various current challenges, such as sustainability, generational change, and the relationship with mass tourism.
“Our task,” explained Vice President Simone Manente, “is to preserve the cooperative principles that led to the founding of our organization in 1904 in a unique city like Venice, while also contextualizing this same reality within an evolving world and technological innovation.”
