Scalo Fluviale is currently working on the relocation of the new Civic Library of the city of Gradisca d’Isonzo.
This major move involves the transfer of approximately 30,000 volumes of literature and the facilities that will house them.
The Library is housed in Casa Maccari, where the Gradisca Cultural Center is located, and includes a public reading facility with consultation and external lending services.
It is part of the Library System of the Province of Gorizia, with which it has established a reciprocal text exchange relationship that allows users to obtain any text held in municipal libraries in the province free of charge.
The Library acquires, catalogs, and preserves materials of historical and local interest, including some minor documents. It holds a collection of approximately 30,000 volumes, which were transported and placed in this new location.
Scalo Fluviale planned and organized all phases of the operation. The Library’s bookcases and 30,000 books have been packed. Our staff, using the trucks available, transported the bookcases and volumes, as well as assembled and fully equipped the shelves, assisting the library staff with their catalogs.
