For the second consecutive year, Scalo Fluviale handled the transportation of materials and equipment for the 2019 Venice Carnival events.
We moved and assembled the stage for the show in Piazza San Marco, which included an award ceremony for the most beautiful mask, and transported the sets for the opening of the Festa Veneziana sull’Acqua, which took place on Saturday, February 9th in Cannaregio.
The shows, which entertained thousands of people again this year, focused on the imagination and creativity of the Venetian Carnival characters.
Parties and events for both adults and children took place among the streets and squares. For approximately two weeks, Venice came alive with masks and confetti, livening up the already festive atmosphere of the city.
The Carnival celebrations concluded with the Flight of the Lion, a relatively new tradition involving the release of a spectacular banner depicting the Lion of St. Mark: a special greeting and a goodbye until next Carnival.
