This year, Scalo Fluviale will handle the transportation of materials and installations for the Venice Art Biennale.
The theme of the 58th International Art Exhibition is “May You Live in Interesting Times,” a sort of introspective look at the so-called interesting times we are currently experiencing: the global economic crisis, the current uncertainty, and the unrest brewing in major powers are all aspects that foster artistic initiative and, therefore, art.
Artistic projects, artworks, and performances will explore these interesting times we live in, highlighting the critical issues and problems that emerge. This year, thousands of visitors will once again attend the event to see world art in all its forms firsthand.
The event will take place from May 11th to November 24th in the Central Pavilions of the Giardini, at the Arsenale with some exhibitions, and in Venetian palaces where some exhibitions from emerging countries will be held.
Scalo Fluviale transports materials and installations for the various pavilions. Our dock, equipped with two fixed electric cranes, three mobile cranes, and seven forklifts, allows us to handle large materials and installations, as well as artworks and special objects for events and exhibitions.
Our fleet consists of seven vessels equipped with cranes for transporting and handling materials and eleven vessels of various sizes, allowing us to provide our full range of services.
For events like the Venice Art Biennale, our specialized staff transports materials and installations with maximum safety and care. They also ensure their positioning in the pavilions according to the curators’ guidelines.
As with every service offered by Scalo Fluviale, safety and respect for the artworks are paramount.
